Got about 4 days left in this place and then I get to be a legit missionary! Can't wait. We leave this upcoming Monday at 2 am. I am excited to make a difference for others rather than just myself. I have been praying for the last 5 weeks to have a good companion haha
Elder Gilbert and I taught zone class this last Saturday which was pretty sweet. 45 minute lesson on the plan of salvation and we focused on our agency throughout the plan. We overprepared and went a little long but it went super well. It was a huge confidence booster for me as far as talking in front of people. Luckily it was in English though. Elder Gilbert and I had our best lesson of the entire CCM this week. we taught the plan of salvation this week to our investigators and it was baller. It's weird because I feel a connection and love for these fake investigators so I am excited for them to be real so It can be even more powerful. I like teaching the Plan of salvation and the doctrine of christ. I find those have the best scripture references and I have the strongest testimony of. we go to bed at 10;30 every night no matter what. exact obedience baby. I haven't always been the strictest rule follower but I think God has been helping me a ton.
Something that has been more of a challenge for me than I thought it would be is explaining the gospel simply. I am so used to saying words like "Christ's atonement" and "repentance" just expecting people to know. also something I heard from Russel M Nelson this week is that we should never say "the atonement" we need to include christ's name with it at all times.
The teacher that I sent pictures of is literally the biggest tender mercy of my life. she is the best teacher ever and we all love her so much. her name is Hermana Barrientos and she is just so great. she's trying to get into BYUI right now but she has to pass and english test first. I learn so much spanish with her and she is just always so happy. She is the kind of person who just loves her job and loves us so much. I wrote my teachers thank you notes and gave them to them yesterday haha. Also 4 of us are singing be still my soul in sacrament this week.
I have a good scripture for you guys. D&C 66:6. It's just a little motivational scripture. You would be surprised on how much they focus more on doctrine here rather than the language. I learned the most in the first 3 weeks, but I still feel like I am progressing. But we are getting into more complicated grammar like subjunctive
My family has been showering me with packages of goodies. I honestly think my mom is trying to fatten me up. I have two boxes of cookie crisp so tomorrow I am taking it to breakfast and letting my whole district go HAM
